The TIOBE Index

Do you want to know which programming languages are popular today? One of the best sources of information on this is the TIOBE Index. The caveat is that this index is compiled across multiple industries and not for a particular industry (e.g., financial services). Thus we see that in November 2023 (in comparison to November 2022), C++ has overtaken Java (C++ is now number 3 and Java number 4). JavaScript and PHP are also both on the rise. This seems to indicate the growing popularity of webapps. Kotlin has risen remarkably (was 28, now 15), as has Fortran (was 24, now 12) and Scratch (was 17, now 11).
